An important work, it shares a sacred tradition.
The author clearly states the importance of self clarity in one's work with crystals. He quides and encourages the reader in personal and mystical paths. Luc Bourgault shares his knowledge and love of all living elements, programming the book as carefully as he guides readers in the programming of crystal work. Well done.

The best book on crystals and their care and use I have read
Written from the perspective of Mother Earth, this book covers the basics of crystals and their use and care. At times, against traditional teaching, but I feel this is a truer path than the others I have read and used

The Book of Crystal Healing is Incredible!
Liz Simpson was straightforward in describing the various aspects of crystals and their metaphysical properties. She brought enlightenment and inspiration to my practices. I definetly recomend this be the first book for a beginner!

Great for Beginners!
This book has lots of useful info. for those interested in Crystals. It gives a brief overview of the science and mystics behind crystals, as well as a brief description of the properties of 20 common crystals. It also has a short section on healing layouts. There are lots of beautiful pictures! However, this book doesn't give a very detailed description of any of the crystals, and is very limited in the amount of information it supplies. A great 'diving board', though.

In my judgement, this is an informative book on crystals and their use. I really enjoyed the sections on how to use crystals in healing. The book also explains how to program your crystals, and how to take care of them. A very detailed, useful book.

Off the subject.
It gives some partially effective forms of meditation and healing, but goes to deep on just one stone and is way to complicated and confusing for the beginner it is made out to be for. It gives long and hard ways to complete simple tasks.

Very informative
This book is perfect for those who are just begining their study of crystals and their psychic properties.Katrina Raphaell is very clear and simple,but no less informative in her writings. Even if you have long been studying the subject of crystals I suggest this book. It will take you on paths you never even considered I garuantee!

I like this book more than others about this topic
One of the best things i like in this book is the soft and sweet way Katrina describe. For all the lovers of crystals and their beauty I think this must be the first book to read. But there is so much information to know about crystals, but is very difficult to find it, maybe is an experience work.

Obviously not Science - remove from Crystallography
I haven't read this book and certainly don't intend to. I don't care if some people want to read about crystal healing, and other New-Age stuff, but Amazon.com certainly shouldn't put this into their "Science and Nature" category. It has little to do with nature (except the peculiarities of human nature) and nothing whatever to do with science.

Precise and understandable may it stay in print forever
I've taught the use of crystals and gemstones for nearly 30 years and this remains the number one recommended book on every reading list I hand out. It's never been improved on and the rest of the competition pales by comparison.

The first book I ever made written notes in!
I know it sounds corny but this book became a teacher to me and a mentor and was the first book (besides school text books) that I ever wrote in and you have to understand that books are sacred to me! My crystals spoke to me when they said 'take me home with you' and this book told me why I heard them and why I knew I wasn't crazy after all!

Still one of the best books ever written!
Many books have been written on Crystal Healing, but Katrina Raphaell's books have stood the test of time. Still the clearest, most in-depth understanding of the ancient art of healing with gems, crystals and stones.

Excellent Crystal info -- but no pictures
If you are already familiar with Crystals, but want more in-depth information on properties, legends, and histories, then this is a book for you! However, this book has no pictures, and only limited info. on using crystals. --This text refers to the mass market paperback edition of this title

Englishwoman Marianna Sheldrake introduces this guide to crystal healing with two pithy bits of wisdom. First, "A closed mind is like a closed parachute--absolutely useless and, at the wrong time, potentially fatal." And second, "Magic is only science yet to be explored." With noticeably down-to-earth concepts, she proceeds to instruct the neophyte and the experienced in the finer points of healing, not only with crystals but also energy healing in general. She acknowledges that the patient's emotional state and capacity for visualization, as well as the healer's intent--which smacks of faith healing--are necessary to effect a cure, but explains how the energies in minerals can restore balance to a diseased body. Chapter 5 is an exhaustive list of characteristics of individual crystals, chapter 6 a list of ailments and the crystals used to heal them. A must to complete Crystal Enlightenment Vol. 1
Everyone must have this second volume of Katrina Raphaell's. Much more in-depth information is contained here as well as a large in-depth description of the healing properties of specific stones. She also has wonderful information on the master quartz crystals.
"Crystal Enlightenment, Vol. 1" and this book which is volume 2 are a must set for every serious student of Crystal Healing!

A Comprehensive study of Crystal Healing for the layman
Katrina's books are informative. In this one, she shows the crystal layouts for each chakra. She shows what different formations to look for and shows pictures of how they look. She makes it easy for the beginner and interesting. When looking up different crystals she describes the reasons one is drawn to it, and for which level i.e. : physical, spiritual, emotional. If you are interested in Crystals.......
but aren't sure where to begin....the answer is RIGHT HERE! Not only do you get a great book full of pictures and information that is JUST RIGHT for beginners, you get a pouch full of your own crystals! No running around trying to find the crystals talked about in the book! The crystals I got in my kit were a nice size, and of an excellent quality. However, I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone already familiar with crystals, as the information is very basic, and you probably already have the crystals.

A complete metephysical handbook on crystals and gemstones
This is a very comprehensive and complete guide to gemstone and crystal healing properties. Michael Gienger gives a good overview of the creation and formation of gemstones and crystals. He has taken the scientific information available and applied it to the overall function and properties given to particular colors and types of stone. His principles and theories of the effects of minerals on humans and animals is persuasive and is very interesting reading for those in the spiritual community. He has absolutely stunning color photographs and easy to understand physical,spiritual,emotional and mental applications and descriptions. This is a good book for those that are into the details and are serious about crystal and gemstone therapy and mysticism.

Beautifully presented
I am a Certified Crystal Healer and plan to use this book in workshops. It is full of beautiful pictures and accurate information. This book is not too detailed for the beginner and yet contains some inspiring layouts for the experienced healer.
